Ah, bedtime…the place where dreams should take over, but instead, it’s the overthinking Olympics! You know how it goes, you’re all snuggled in, the lights are off, and suddenly, your brain decides now is the perfect time to revisit *everything* you’ve ever done wrong since second grade. Remember when you said “You too? the silent end, when the waiter told you to enjoy your meal? Yep, that’s back there, too.
Or maybe you’re replaying that absolutely cringe worthy conversation with your boss, reliving every pause, every “uhm,” and imaginary eye roll.

But it’s not only today, the occasions go back in history. No, your brain takes a nice stroll down memory lane and, just like a tourist, stops at every embarrassing spot you have tried to bury. You would think the mind is tired of this mental marathon, but no! “And miles to go before I sleep” suddenly makes so much sense; it is not a poetic musing, but an anthem of the overthinker.

The worst part? Just as you finally decide it’s all nonsense, it’s 3 a.m., and your brain says, “Well, time to rest!”

But hey, maybe tomorrow we’ll overthink a little less. Or. probably not.
