Focus on improving not Proving
Sometimes, living in a world which has made achievement the apparent basis of life, it is far too easy to believe that we're always proving ourselves. Let's try to shift this mentality for a second: instead of proving what we're capable of, imagine waking up and focusing on improvement each day. This is literally not about showing our skills or successes, but putting energy into being the best version of yourself.
The benefits of improving over proving are many. In improving, we allow for learning, feedback, and growth to be processes. Mistakes then become stepping stones, not setbacks, and every little counts.
Think of this: the need to prove may be like standing on stage, awaiting applause. Improvement-perhaps that is being in one's workshop, crafting one's masterpiece, stroke by precious stroke, contributing to growth. Let's welcome improvement, then, at each step, without the pressure of having to prove it to someone else other than ourselves.
