I just don’t want that for myself

We can all recall times that someone, or the public, decides to advise; we can now see for the first time that it does not really feel right to us. I have grown to see the strength found in acceptance of,

"I just don't want that for myself."

The problem at hand isn't defiance of good advice given but how it may serve to move us further onto who we are as authentic beings.

Saying no to something doesn't mean we are ungrateful or unambitious; it simply means we are focused on what resonates with us.

Maybe it is a career path, a lifestyle, or even a social norm. Embracing what we want and leaving behind what we don't is the first step in building a life that feels true to us. It's a small phrase with a big impact — allowing us to choose intentionally and live authentically.
