Not a Loser But Not a Winner Either
We scroll through social media each day, seeing highlight reels of success, friends landing their dream jobs, people flaunting perfect relationships, influencers flaunting lavish lifestyles. When you sit in that space, that gray area, where you are not a loser, but definitely not a winner either, it is not easy when you’re in the in-between.
The Weight of Expectations
We wake up, go to work, school, and put our best efforts in; yet somehow we cannot help but feel as if we are just treading water. It’s not that we’re failing, but we’re not thriving either. This no man’s land can be a lonely place, and it’s a battle we all face. Societies tell us that, to succeed, we should be living large, famous, and decorated. What about our everyday wins?
You’re Not Alone
In a world obsessed with results, remember that it’s okay to be in this transitional phase. Stop looking through very narrow societal standards, and instead celebrate your small victories. Have you got a friend in need that you helped out? Did you learn something today? All of these moments are what grows you forward, though they may not be accompanied with the spotlight.
It becomes okay when things are in the middle because it’s precisely there where growth is happening, learning, evolving, and of course, discovering who you are.
I you feel as if you’re in a holding pattern, just know that you aren’t alone. Many people silently struggle with their own aspirations and disappointments.
