Where Do Lost Moments Go?
Quiet between breaths there’s moments we let go
The conversations we weren’t able to have time for, the laughter we left too soon, before being fully shared, and those soft glances gone unseen. All these lost bits of time disappear unnoticed but are they really lost, or do they find some sort of hiding place where the echoes of memory carry them?
“Memories are the echo of time, they linger in our minds, even when the moments have faded.” Perhaps, it is there in the wrinkles of our thoughts, only to surface in dreams, or in fleeting déjà vu. They are the almosts, the could-have-beens, whispering in our ears to slow down, to notice, and to be present.
There’s beauty in impermanence because one will know that moments are really transient. They come and go, but the essences they leave us will define who we become in time. Those lost moments might not have been properly lived, but they don’t exist anymore; their pieces are woven into the soul, reminding one to live what is now, so there will be a few lost moments when one reaches tomorrow.
